The Orangutan - Endangered Species stamp series, issued on March 06, 1989, is part of a campaign to preserve Indonesia's endangered endemic wildlife. The design features detailed illustrations of the Orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) in various natural poses within its habitat. Technically, these stamps were produced using offset-lithography on unwatermarked paper in a large horizontal format measuring 48.0 x 33.0 mm.
